April 2026
Oh April, finally Spring has sprung (sort of). Its one frost-laden morning after another until all of a sudden, one afternoon, the light is different and the trees have changed. Winter can finally kiss my ass for the next several months.

March 2026
March in Vermont. While the rest of the country gets to look Winter in the rear view, we get a 5th season. That glorious gray and white light of false Spring; an oscillating purgatory of freeze and thaw. On and on and on it drags. So long March, and good riddance.

With the ornaments of holidaying fully stripped, January was like getting shot out of a cannon. The bitter cold and predominantly gray days persisted as they do in Vermont with a stubborn refusal to admit defeat. This is what January does: wear things to the bone.
